I am so excited to write about Prismacolor Premier Soft Core colored pencils today. Prismacolor colored pencils are exceptional. My husband loves these colored pencils. They have superior lay down characteristics, blending capabilities, shading characteristics and come in rich saturated colors. I bought the 150 set so I could see all the colors. Check out this blog post to see the box and all the pencils.

thank you for sharing this.
ReplyDeleteThank you!!!! I have been looking for something like this for years. I teach art at the high school level and I like to replace just what is used up so I can buy bigger boxed sets for my students to ge the variety (and I can't afford to get them every year!)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that liked this! And I am so glad they sell them individually too :)
DeleteThankyou!! This was just shat I needed shen I googled to find the complete list of colors. In fact, this is better, since is has all the info I should need on the colors and kits 😀
ReplyDeletedo you have a full chart of the prisma colors by the color family?
ReplyDeletelike all reds in one, all redorange in another etc.
No, but why don't you make one and share with all of us. You know, not just take and want more.. but share it forward also!
Deleteso can someone tell me how to get a complete set of colored pencils or does it depend on what type u buy ?
ReplyDelete? I'm not sure I understand your question. I just bought the 150 prismacolor pencil set from Amazon for $94 + tax with free shipping. At first I tried their 24 pencil set, made a good red orange yellow mandala with that, then their 72 pencil set, but it did not have enough blues and greens to suit me. So far I really like the prismacolor, their soft cores help me learn how to blend.

Yes,getting a complete set depends on what type you buy. For the Prismacolors, 150 is the oomplete set. Search Prismacolor Premier. Price varies by retailer. For other brands, you will have to do the research yourself, as I do not know how many colors are made by other brands. Usually you can buy the colored pencils in various sets or by individual pencils. Some brands are not sold in open stock (individual pencils).
DeleteThank you Jenny for this. It is very helpful. It's especially great to have it all spelled out so I can adapt this for my own purposes. 🙂
ReplyDelete- Summersday
Fantastic work. Thank you for compiling this list. I was looking for two colors that are not on the list, Metallic Green (#1048) and Metallic Blue (#1049). Discontinued, perhaps?
ReplyDeleteI have looked over this site lots of time and saw the last of colors that says only in sets of 150 and 48 so I went and get the 48 so I can have those colors and those colors were not in that set at all.
ReplyDeleteYour question is somewhat confusing since the colours that are in the 48 set are also in the sets that are higher (72ct, 132ct)... not just the 150. In any case, the colours in the 48 set should be the same as are listed here. Did you perhaps mistakenly purchase the 48 set of Prismacolor Scholars, instead of the Prismacolor Premiers??
DeleteThis was so helpful. I currently have a 48 set, and was wondering if I'd duplicate by buying a larger set (yup).
ReplyDeleteDo you have a list of ALL the prismacolor colors going back to 1938 - including retired colors? That would be awesome!
ReplyDeleteInteresting, I've been trying to do something similar with my 120 color set, and it looks like it has a few that aren't on here.

Hi Jenny, just wondering if you plan to add the themed 12 count sets as well (such as Botanical, Landscape, Under The Sea, etc.) so that this page would truly be a complete list of the Prismacolor Premiers? Thanks for all your great work putting together your website and these lists!
ReplyDeleteI went through set by set and unless I'm mistaken the 159 set has them all
DeleteI'd love if you could do this for the Prismacolor Scholar series of colored pencils.
ReplyDeleteThis info is great. Thank you. I lovey Prismacolor pencils. I lead a coloring group in my senior community, but I won't let anyone use my Prismacolors.
ReplyDeleteJenny, you are INCREDIBLE! Thank you so much for your thoroughness! There are comments on Amazon all the time, under the Prismacolor products, asking about what colors are in each set. Your website needs to be listed there. You would get tons of web traffic! :-) Wishing you all the best and looking forward to exploring your site further!
ReplyDeleteI love your charts and it's clear that you've spent a lot of time creating them. I have a couple of questions. First, regarding your set of chart blanks ($10), are these electronic for download and is the text list (Name, color number, hex, and rgb) also downloadable as a spreadsheet?
ReplyDeleteRobyn, yes the chart blanks come as pdfs. I do not have the hex, rgb etc as a list yet, but that is a good idea.
DeleteJust wanted to say thank you so much for all the work that I know must have gone into this. I also hope the people who asked for even more info/work from you without even saying thank see this and know what jerks they are.
ReplyDeleteHi! In 150-boxset there's not black, nor neon green...
