Crayola Changeable Crayons: What's Inside the Box

Crayola came out with a series of crayons called Changeables which consisted of  6 crayons that could change color with a color change crayon.  Crayola later made OverWriters and Color Switcher markers in the 2000's which did a similar thing with markers.  The markers used different ph's to change the color. The crayons probably change in similar ways.  The patent is not listed on the back.  I will have to find it.

It is interesting to note the wrapper for the color changer crayons are different. The US versions has a metallic wrapper and the Canadian version has a normal wrapper. The wrappers on the US version are colored and have stars while the wrappers on the Canadian version are monochrome.

Collecting Information

Both of these boxes are highly collectible. The Canadian box is different. There are not code or style numbers on the box.  I inferred the style number from the bottom of the box.  Usually during this time the code number was put on a flap, but I didn't see it.  These crayons have been used and the colors from the crayons have seeped through the wrappers. The font is also different sizes on some of the crayons.  I think they are all from the same box, but who knows? This is the Canadian version of the box.  There is a US version.
